{PIN}spirational Challenges - New Badge For Your Blog

Have you joined {PIN}spirational Challenges yet? If not, you are missing out on a unique blog that offers  weekly craft challenges inspired by photos found on Pinterest.

I was excited to join this blog as design team member nearly at its beginning & I have had a lot of fun being inspired & challenged. I work with a small group of talented ladies that I recommend visiting:

Deanne, A Little Bit Of Paper
Darlene, Simple Southern Blessings
Paige, She Who Must Stamp

I was also able to contribute by creating its badge for participants. Isn't it fantastic?

Deanne, {PIN}spirational Challenges' Coordinator & Creator, chose the color scheme you see in it. She left everything else to me, which is always fun AND challenging. Surprisingly, this was my first attempt. I love it!

You are welcome to post it on your blog. Don't forget to link it up to http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.com and definitely check out the blog for the newest challenge!

{PIN}spirational Challenges #5

This card is completely different than what I usually create. It came out very "altered art/mixed media." It also has two of my favorite colors together - red & light blue. I love it!

It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I added netting under the cap that lays over her eyes to act as a birdcage veil.

This card was made exclusively for {PIN}spirational Challenges - Join us every week for a new challenge that's inspired by photos from Pinterest!

{PIN}spirational Chaleenge #4: Photo Inspiration

This is my first official week as a DT member of {PIN}spirational Challenges - Yeah! It's a fantastic challenge blog that challenges you to create with a photo found on Pinterest. You can also find wonderful links to freebies to help you with the challenge. How awesome is that?

Using the same embellishments & layout, I created a box AND a card for this challenge. It is also a part of my Mission 2012: Use It! I successfully used a variety of supplies from the owl (which I'd made previously) to the gorgeous rose.

The owl features rhinestone eyes & a pearl belly button - Very cute and super sweet! Instead of a latch for closure on this box, I opted for a strands of pearls.

Below is the card version of this design. I distressed the brown card base with paint. Yes! You can use paint on your cards. I find that it's a great way to coordinate colors if you don't have a particular one in cardstock or paper.

The flower had more yellow than pink, so I inked it up with pink & added pink glitter glue to the center. It toned down the yellow & tied the flower into the overall color scheme, which is pink, blue & brown.

We have a wonderful sponsor for this week's challenge, so definitely join in the fun & submit your own inspired piece at {PIN}spirational Challenges for a chance to win & create!

O is for Orange

Orange can be a tricky color, but if you pick the right coordinating colors, it is absolutely splendid! Unless it's Halloween, I highly recommend NOT using purple or green (unless it's a very small amount.) Try orange with neutrals. They make it pop & tone it down. I used white & silver with orange for a clean look that isn't obnoxious.

My micro clothes pins are not just for banners or gift wrap. Use them on cards for a fun 3D element that everyone will enjoy.

Play In The Rain

When I lived on the coast, it rained A LOT . . . all the time . . . even in July! You quickly learned to treat a rainy day like it was a sunny day. You did your business, you played & you just lived in it. If you didn't, you would be a hermit & miss out on everyday joys.

These boots are a digital stamp that are offered for FREE by Broken Box Stock. I cut off the very tops because I messed up the color scheme by using a dark blue. They look fantastic, though, don't you think?

I Heart Ladybugs

Have you ever been bitten by a ladybug? Well, I haven't, but my siblings claim they bite. I don't believe them. They are so gentle. They always just crawl around on my fingers, then fly away.
