S.W.A.K.

I made up quite of few of these lip embellishments, so you may just see them popping up on a variety of cards.

Explore Nature

Instead of using patterned paper, I used a photo from my trip to the Caribbean. If I remember correctly, this is a beautiful stream in Dominica that we passed on our way to a striking waterfall & swimming hole.

I love this card & I'm going to pull more photos from my trips to use as backgrounds. They add so much to it with variations in color, natural beauty & just interest.

Kiss My Jewel

Pink & bling . . . what more could a creation need? Well, how about a little lace, too?

The lips are three layers. Base is just for stability, middle layer is covered in super sparkling glitter & top layer is a thick layer of glaze (like lip gloss!)

I Heart Bottle Caps

I love color! I have so many favorites that it is always hard to pick. However, I do have a couple of color combos that I adore and this creation features one of them: Citrus & gray.

He Loves Me . . . He Loves Me Not . . . He Loves Me . . .

This creation is quick, simple & sweet :)

I used the same flowers from the card below, but I changed it up for a different look & card.

Posies In A Vase

Here is a quick & easy way to create a "vase": Cut the ends off of an oval. Yep, that's all it takes :)

I used the same flowers from the card below, but I changed it up for a completely different look & new creation.

Apple Of My Eye

I finally got around to using this delightful digital stamp by Meljen's Design. Isn't it just SO cute? I love their graphics & it's always exciting to have them sponsor a challenge at Tuesday Alchemy.

Sparkle, Bloom & Bow

It is just not very cheery today. Rain, rain, rain! The local weather girl says it's "light showers" - Ha! Everything is soaked & it hasn't let up since I awoke this morning.

Handbag Style

There was a very brief moment in my life when I decided I was going to make purses. My mom had just bought me a sewing machine, so that was all I needed! I bought lots of fabric, trims, threads, handles & whatever else caught my fancy. I was going to be this fabulous handbag designer, making lots of money by selling them on ebay.

Ha ha ha! I made a few bags AND I even sold a couple. They weren't horrible, but they were not fantastic. Of course, I struggled & struggled to learn, but my impatience got the better of me. I put a stop to that fantasty. It was fun for a time, but it just didn't catch my interest.

Itsy Bitsy Bikinis

It's Summer! If you are in Oregon like me, it may not seem like it. But it's here! If you haven't already pulled it out, it's time to get that bikini (or other swimsuit if you're not a bikini wearer) ready to wear or at least your body ready to wear it :)

Romance In The Park

A delightfully drawn couple relax on a park bench - Isn't that just sweet?

To bling this creation up, I covered a chipboard flourish with sparkling blue glitter. I've had these flourishes for a long, long time. They come unaltered. I decided to use them ASAP. I pained & added glitter to a bunch, so don't be surprised if you see a few more projects with these on 'em!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #10: Inspiration Photo - Girls At The Seashore

What better way to spend a sunny day than at the seashore? Yeah, you'll get sand in places you don't want to mention, but it's totally worth it. One of my favorite things is to feel sand between my toes, smell the fresh ocean air, listening to the crashing waves & view the beauty that is the sea.

At {PIN}spirational Challenges, we are inspired by a photo of two girls playing at the seashore. This made me think of getting to the beach. Before you actually see the ocean, you often see a sign pointing you in the right direction. That is what my whimsical creation is all about.

The sign's post was made using a real twig from my backyard.

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #17: Sand, Surf & Sea

It's World Ocean Day on June 8th! At Tuesday Alchemy this week, we decided to celebrate all week long by challenging ourselves and you to create ANY craft that is inspired by the sand, surf & sea. Want to join this celebration or just learn more about World Ocean Day? Fantastic! Click here.

My favorite color combination (at least for the moment) is red with light blue, so I used just that on this creation. The white card is covered in rows of small crabs. The center is swirl-embossed cardstock with layers of burlap on top. I painted, glittered & sealed a chipboard flourish before embellishing it with red satin ribbon. The final detail: an oval mirror with "Love" printed on it.

Thinking Of You

Well, this will be my final card for today. I ran out of time, so I wasn't able to do all of the challenges for 365 Cards. Darn! I was SO close, but I ended up going shopping with my partner. We went to the Army & Navy Store, Costco & Wal-Mart. We did get a few good things, though! A tent, screen room, olives & garden gloves.

Here is a little bonus for you . . . Garlic & Jalapeno Stuffed Olives - They are yummy, addicting & incredibly inexpensive at Costco for a big jar. If you see them there, buy 'em, you won't be disappointed!

Discover

I discovered a whole bag of this argyle die cuts that I had made previously (By previously, I mean probably well over a year ago!) If you've checked out my other creations today, you will definitely notice a similarity in supplies used :) I decided to use as much of them as possible because they have been just sitting there with nothing to do for so long.

Adore

I only just recently learned that there is actually a term for cutting an image out - Fussy cutting. I'd heard people refer to it before, but it wasn't until this challenge by 365 Cards that I decided to find out exactly what it meant. Ha! Fussy cutting? It's just cutting - a classic method used by any crafter who collages, scrapbooks or makes anything with paper or fabric.

Anyway, I'll be in the know & start using the term :)

The big, gold flower was fussy cut - It's gorgeously coated with glitter for lots of sparkle!

Escape

Today's weather in Oregon is fairly mild, so I'm going to escape into crafting, imagining when it will be nice & hot & I will be swimming in a lake. I decided to attempt to complete a full week of challenges for 365 Cards. This is my second card today for them. Stay tuned to see if I can complete all 7 challenges . . .

Thank You Very Much

The main feature of this creation is the vibrant blue glitter flourish. It started out as plain, unaltered chipboard. I painted, glittered & sealed it before adding hemp twine & two flower buttons layered atop each other.

Red, White & Cupcake!

Here is a quick & easy card. It features a damask pocket (handmade by me, of course), satin ribbon, flower buttons & black rhinestones. Oh, yeah, don't forget the stamped cupcake on the flat card tucked into the pocket. CAS!
