Thinking Of You

This card is busy, busy, busy. The background has so many different things to discover that you will see something new every time you take a look.

I used ribbon as the background for the sentiment. It adds texture & uniqueness to the card along with matching the color scheme.

K is for Kite

K is for Kite. I know, I went with something easy peasy, but mostly I chose it because I have this adorable little stamp that I haven't used yet.

When I originally stamped the pink & purple kites, they were too light, so I went over them with glitter gel pens. This made them pop & sparkle. (I didn't have a blue pen, so I left it alone.)

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #9: Overload

For Tuesday Alchemy's challenge this week, I decided to go with an abundance of colors, patterns & textures. The center oval was made by me using Scratch-N-Sniff stickers. Yep, this card smells like candy & other sweet treats - Isn't that awesome?

Chippy Bling (Mission 2012: Use It!)

I used the sketch from The Pixie Cottage. Instead of the "blocks", I used these chipboard motifs that I colored with markers & embellished with rhinestones. I kept this card clean & simple, but I couldn't resist adding lots of "bling" - It's a favorite of mine as I believe everything needs a little sparkle & shine.

Owl Necklace - WIN IT!

I was taking a little journey through Loves Happy Hour followers today (I like to check out blogger's followers because it's a great way to find other crafters & interesting people.) I came across this wonderful blogger, Amy. Her place is called Distinct Designs By Amy. Amy creates party supplies that are super fun & cute!

She is offering a giveaway in April. She calls it a "throwback" to when she first started creating, which was jewelry. It's a wonderful owl necklace. Click here to enter (It's very easy & she has ways for additional entries as well.)

Happy Wedding

I kept this card very CAS as I didn't want to take away from the lovely simplicity of the dove. Of course, I did add some bling - See her sparkling eye?

Cheers!

When I was a little younger, I was all about relaxing after a long, tedious day at my crappy job with a nice martini (or two or . . . let's just stop at two.) Now, I'm such a lightweight & hardly ever drink anything stronger than sparkling water. I also don't wake up with a hangover & my job is no longer crappy, but one that I love.

Balloon Bouquet

Receiving a balloon bouquet is kind of fun, but have you tried to get it home? The balloons float all over the place in your car, blocking your view, creating a safety hazard & actually I would rather get something else . . . like this handmade card. This balloon bouquet can travel quite safely.

U-Turn

The journey of life is never on a straight path. In fact, sometimes you have to take a U-turn . . .

Let's Fly A Kite!

Woo - it has been quite windy here! As the wind whips across me, I am transported back to childhood memories of picking out the perfect kite (lots of bright colors & girlie things) & then flying it. Oh, what fun it was!

Music Notes (M2012: Use It! Card Edition )

I love, love, LOVE to sing. Unfortunately, I sound absolutely awful. You won't see me anytime soon on American Idol. I do wish I had a beautiful singing voice. My partner wishes I had one, too, since I sing around the house constantly. I know I sound bad, but I pretend that I don't then I look at my partner. He always gets this look on his face . . . of pain.

Cupcake In The Clouds ( Mission 2012: Use It! Card Edition )

Cupcakes . . . mmmm . . . Do I really need to say anything else?

Ok, I will say something else, but only to let you know that there is this fantastic place, Sticky Gooey Creamy Chewy, to see "red" cupcakes: Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes, that is. They look amazing! Now, if you are a vegan like me, you will have to substitute a few things.

Pin & Tack Plays Bingo Times Three

I am doing a little . . . ok, a LOT of spring cleaning. I made quite a few mini (2.5"x3.5") card bases, but I haven't done anything with them yet. Well, today is the day! Yeah! I created three different cards because I was playing Simon Says Bingo. You can definitely say I got three Bingos, so BINGO! BINGO! BINGO!

Ok, I know I was being a little obnoxious there, but it's how I play it . . .

Card #1 - Flowers, Lace & Twine

Card #2 - Charms, Lace & Brads

Card #3 - Pearls, Lace & Ticket/Tag

Always Appreciate

Using only black, red & white materials, I created these little cards that will be perfect for teachers, mentors or anyone who needs to know that you appreciate them.

Follow These Words (Mission 2012: Use It! Card Edition )

This card is not so moody with its blues, but rather offers inspirational words to live by & fun elements to enjoy. This card also marks my successful completion of one week of 365 Cards challenges, which are given everyday. I did it - Yeah!

Spring Flowers (2012 Mission: Use It! Card Edition)

These cards are the first in a collection of creations that I am making as my goal for 2012: Use it! Instead of buying, storing & basically just imagining, I am going to actually use my craft supplies. A novel idea, huh?

The pansy is a vellum sticker that I placed on paper,
trimmed, added a rhinestone & raised up for more dimension.

Eiffel Tower Featuring Pin & Tack's Paperclips

This card was probably one of the easiest cards I've created. I grabbed a few pieces of cardstock from my scrap drawer & it just put itself together. I left plenty of negative space because the card base has so much texture & I didn't want to hide it.

I added one of my handcrafted paperclips as the
only non-paper embellishment. It was just perfect!

Lucky Three

This card features three clover tags that I had made a while ago. They've been waiting & waiting to be used, so I decided to finally give them their day in the sun. Instead of using them on a gift, I used them as embellishments for a card. I left it very simple because the card is a crisp white with lots of texture.

This card was created for one challenge* - See below for the link & details, so you can join in the fun & create your own card:

* I know this card is a late submission, but I am trying to do as many of this blog's challenges as possible. I had this idea since the challenge was posted, but I ran out of time until now.

Buttons & Daisies

I have lots of buttons. I bought them to use, but then I never used them. Waiting for something to use them on - for something in the future - for something else. I always think "I might need them for another project." Well, enough with the waiting & enough with the storing!

I decided this circle card is perfect for these buttons. The handmade flowers add doses of bright color & actually look quite well with the soft blues of the buttons.
