New To Shop: Holiday Imperfect Beauties

What are Imperfect Beauties?

They are the clothes pins that didn't make the cut because they have chips, broken ends or very rough spots.

I give these pins the same tender, loving crafting as the other ones, but they receive a healthy discount to tempt you even more!

These are perfect for photo banners, weddings, paper clips or use in your crafts.

Distressed Mini Clothes Pins
6 Shabby Chic Pins For USD $3.86
(Worldwide shipping, too!)

All pins arrive delightfully packaged in muslin bag. Gold & Cream (Top), Pine & Cream (Middle) and Cherry & Cream (Bottom) are shown in this post.

More colors can be found at Pin & Tack Handcrafted Delights. Custom orders available upon request.

Anything But A Card Challenge #4: Fall/Halloween

Happy Fall! Happy Halloween! It's your choice what will inspire you for our fourth challenge at Anything But A Card Challenges. Like it's name, this challenge requires you to think outside of the card box and create something different.

For my project, I create a chalkboard frame. All the lovely dark purple (including the flower shape) is ready for you to write a message with chalk, erase, then write again.

I painted, distressed, then sealed this fun piece of useable home decor. The finishing touches were a smart grosgrain ribbon bow & one-eyed monster.

Fun, fun, fun!

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #35: Woohoo - It's Anything Goes!

It's everyone's favorite challenge! Yeah, you know the one . . . It's the challenge where you get to decide what the challenge will be or if you will be challenged at all - Ha!

Join me at Tuesday Alchemy for our Anything Goes challenge starting today. We have not one, not two, but THREE lovely sponsors:

I created these clothes pins as a birthday present for a girl who just adores zebra print.

I painted, distressed, sealed & covered with a zebra print paper before adding glitter to the black stripes then topping with a grosgrain ribbon bow.

I have to give my partner credit for part of the idea, though. He told me to put glitter just on the stripes - Wow, he might just be a crafter at heart. (Okay, that's really only my wishful thinking - Ha!)

Anything But A Card Challenge #2: Texture

ABAC Challenge #2 begins today. It's all about texture. Create ANY project as long as it's not a card and add that texture to it!

This canvas was covered with glittered cardstock before I painted over it with navy, then distressed in white.

Satin ribbon is topped with a piece of a broken belt (Super cute belt, but oh, so cheap & broke on me!)

I painted the butterfly white, so it would go with the color scheme, then topped with a grosgrain ribbon bow.

Lots of different textures - Yeah!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #20: Photo Inspiration - Apples

I know that it's too hot to think of hot apple cider, but the time will arrive soon!

You can get a jump start on Fall by being inspired to create something apple for {PIN}spirational Challenges!

Our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe, who offers wonderful cutting files & printable stamps.

I created a little apple magnet. It's covered in a page from an old, well-loved book, inked in red, then embellished with burlap, ribbon & button.

It's super cute and wouldn't it make a perfect teacher's gift?

C Is For Clothes Pins

Clothes pins are my specialty. Here is what I was doing on Saturday.
It didn't take me all day, but there is drying time, so I can get other things done.

What did you do on Saturday?

Just For Me (Part Two)

Since I wanted to add a little decor to my cubicle, I decided to make a clothes pin banner to hold photos or possibly little works of art that I'm going to make.

Here is a set of clothes pins that I painted, distressed before adding sparkling ribbon & crisp white roses to it.

Isn't it so shabby chic & fabulous? I love it when my creations turn out so lovely!

I also previously made a matching memo board. Click here to see it.

Do you make your own decorations? What have you made?

These pins were submitted to these challenge blogs. See below for details.

Just For Me

I usually don't make anything for myself, but I wanted something special for my cubicle.

This is a sweet memo board that I created out of a $1 canvas art piece. I covered it with scraps of patterned papers before placing a layer of watered down paint. I distressed it, then added the ribbons & other embellishments.

Have you made yourself something recently? What was it?

Thinking Of You

A sweet, layered cake decorated with white accents makes this creation fabulous!

If it was real, wow - wouldn't that be just yummy? You probably wouldn't want to eat it!

A Random Collage

My mission this year is to use what I already have stashed away in my craft studio. This piece fully represents that.

A wood box lid was painted to be used as the "canvas." Then I picked random embellishments & combined them into a collage.

This piece resides happily in my living room.
