Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #17: Sand, Surf & Sea

It's World Ocean Day on June 8th! At Tuesday Alchemy this week, we decided to celebrate all week long by challenging ourselves and you to create ANY craft that is inspired by the sand, surf & sea. Want to join this celebration or just learn more about World Ocean Day? Fantastic! Click here.

My favorite color combination (at least for the moment) is red with light blue, so I used just that on this creation. The white card is covered in rows of small crabs. The center is swirl-embossed cardstock with layers of burlap on top. I painted, glittered & sealed a chipboard flourish before embellishing it with red satin ribbon. The final detail: an oval mirror with "Love" printed on it.

This card was submitted to wonderful challenge blogs - See below for links & details, so you can create your own & join in the fun!

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #16: Fruitylicious

Another fun week at Tuesday Alchemy brings us the challenge of using fruit in any craft. I had these stickers that would be perfect for it & I'd been holding on to them for a while. My plans changed, though! Once I saw this "Perfect Pear" digital stamp from Meljen's Designs, I just had to use it.

Meljen's Designs is our sponsor at Tuesday Alchemy this week. So, you could win this stamp or whatever FOUR digital stamps you'd like by sharing a fruitylicious creation with us!

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #15: Beautiful Butterflies

Oh, those beautiful butterflies - Who doesn't like them? This week at Tuesday Alchemy we are challenged to create any craft using butterflies. I decided to make a wooden basket. I had this gorgeous copper & yellow butterfly, which inspired me to use a color scheme of brown & yellow. Although, it's not colors I would typically use, I must say that it did turn out quite lovely.

Since I am determined to use my supplies & not buy anymore until I do, I created a variety of projects using these bright daffodils. All items are available at my shop, Pin & Tack, so you can make them yours if you'd like.

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #14: Happy Wedding!

"Happy Wedding!" is the challenge this week at Tuesday Alchemy. Since I've been making lots & lots of cards recently, I decided to change things up!

I created this ring bearer's pillow from muslin, burlap & other fabric along with grosgrain & satin ribbons. It's very rustic, shabby chic & features one of my favorite color combos: sweet pink & chocolate brown.

Do you have your own handmade wedding ideas? Create 'em & link 'em up at Tuesday Alchemy for our newest challenge.

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #12: May Day

This week's challenge at Tuesday Alchemy is May Day. Now, if you are like me, you have no idea what May Day is. Ok, so I had heard of it and I only knew one thing about it: There is a pole and people dance around it.

Well, May Day is SO much more! After getting more information, this is what I learned in one sentence (let's keep this short): May Day is a celebration of Spring, Summer & the end of Winter. Yeah!

This is available in my shop, Pin & Tack.

Lily (A Tuesday Alchemy Sneak Preview)

Tuesday Alchemy has a new sponsor & I am very excited to introduce you to them! Pink Cat Studio will be offering a prize for Tuesday Alchemy's next challenge (starts Tuesday, May 1st.) Woohoo!

In this card, I used one of their delightful digital stamps, Lily Holding Flowers. Isn't she super sweet?

For the background, I cut squares out of the same striped paper & simply switched up the direction that the stripes go. For Lily's pigtails, I added cute little bows. I brought the same blue to the dots on her skirt to tie the color scheme together.

This card was submitted to wonderful challenge blogs - See below for links & details, so you can create your own & join in the fun!

This card is available for FREE! Yep, it's free. Click here if you'd like to have it as your very own.

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #11: Black & White

Did you see my sneak preview? Did you guess correctly? It's all about black & white! I created a box with lots of those two basic colors. It has a collection of buttons, boutique bow, satin ribbon & delicate yellow roses. Shabby chic & sweet!

This week at Tuesday Alchemy is VERY SPECIAL! We have first sponsored challenged, so you can win a prize by joining us for the challenge. Karen's Scraps And Graphics has generously offered a $10 coupon to their shop AND has signed up to be our regular sponsor - Woohoo!

I opted for sparkling rhinestone details instead of a latch.

Tuesday Alchemy's Challenge #10: Spring Sweetness

This week's challenge at Tuesday Alchemy is Spring Sweetness. We are celebrating Spring! I created a lovely tea light holder for this occasion. It features pretty yellow roses & boutique bow. A shabby chic delight!

I also made the display stand. It's made from vintage wood parts that I pieced together & secured before painting, distressing & sealing. They make wonderful risers to lift up your decor or can be used for a doll's table.
