Spring At The Beach

This card was created using Spring colors, but I also tossed in a little beach with the turquoise. (Thanks to Paper Minutes great color scheme!)

For the middle flower, I painted a chipboard shape in brown, added the polka dot detail then covered in clear glaze. I had made this piece previously, so I added more polka dots with turquoise paint to bring more of that beachy color to this piece.

BIG Buttons

I had this idea to create my own paper buttons. For a challenge, I needed to go BIG or go home, so this would be perfect for that. It was simple enough: A circle, two punched holes & ribbon.

Ok, I did it. It didn't quite turn out as fantastic as I wanted. I'm going to try different ways to make the paper buttons pop more, but for now I think these will work just fine.

I chose a random selection of buttons from my stash & layered them across the button. I decided to spend the time stringing them, too. This is always a major decision for me as sometimes I just want to get things done!

{PIN}spirational Chaleenge #4: Photo Inspiration

This is my first official week as a DT member of {PIN}spirational Challenges - Yeah! It's a fantastic challenge blog that challenges you to create with a photo found on Pinterest. You can also find wonderful links to freebies to help you with the challenge. How awesome is that?

Using the same embellishments & layout, I created a box AND a card for this challenge. It is also a part of my Mission 2012: Use It! I successfully used a variety of supplies from the owl (which I'd made previously) to the gorgeous rose.

The owl features rhinestone eyes & a pearl belly button - Very cute and super sweet! Instead of a latch for closure on this box, I opted for a strands of pearls.

Below is the card version of this design. I distressed the brown card base with paint. Yes! You can use paint on your cards. I find that it's a great way to coordinate colors if you don't have a particular one in cardstock or paper.

The flower had more yellow than pink, so I inked it up with pink & added pink glitter glue to the center. It toned down the yellow & tied the flower into the overall color scheme, which is pink, blue & brown.

We have a wonderful sponsor for this week's challenge, so definitely join in the fun & submit your own inspired piece at {PIN}spirational Challenges for a chance to win & create!

Imagine (RDB1)

This card is one of 3 in a small collection that I created for my 2012 Mission: Use It. I had previously created the damask tags with blooms. Today, I finally used them. Rather than tags, they are the featured embellishment.

I used two different inks on the one stamp. It copies the reds & pinks that are found in the patterned paper for a more cohesive look.

Spring Carnival

For this card, I picked a mixed up lot of embellishments. It's more collage than anything else, but the theme is definitely full of fun, play & Spring.

Corset & Flowers = Romance

This card is fun, flirty & romantic - A sweet card to give to a future bride.

To create the corner embellishment (see below), I stamped flowers in brown ink & added pink dots using paint for added detail.

Chippy Bling (Mission 2012: Use It!)

I used the sketch from The Pixie Cottage. Instead of the "blocks", I used these chipboard motifs that I colored with markers & embellished with rhinestones. I kept this card clean & simple, but I couldn't resist adding lots of "bling" - It's a favorite of mine as I believe everything needs a little sparkle & shine.

C is for Cake

Who doesn't like cake? Even when it's made from cardstock, I can imagine it as a real thing. Rich, creamy & chock full of sugar . . . give me just a moment . . . Ok, I'm done with my sweets fantasy. This card features a REAL candle - Isn't that fantastic?

Music Notes (M2012: Use It! Card Edition )

I love, love, LOVE to sing. Unfortunately, I sound absolutely awful. You won't see me anytime soon on American Idol. I do wish I had a beautiful singing voice. My partner wishes I had one, too, since I sing around the house constantly. I know I sound bad, but I pretend that I don't then I look at my partner. He always gets this look on his face . . . of pain.

Follow These Words (Mission 2012: Use It! Card Edition )

This card is not so moody with its blues, but rather offers inspirational words to live by & fun elements to enjoy. This card also marks my successful completion of one week of 365 Cards challenges, which are given everyday. I did it - Yeah!

Fairy Stamp & Vintage Trim ( Mission 2012 - Use It! Card Edition )

I had forgotten about this vintage trim that I had. Scavenging through my ribbons, I saw this funky trim & just knew it was meant for this piece. I used a bit of it on the tag, too! Waste nothing - It's my crafting motto.

I had previously made the cardstock base & added patterned
paper. Since my goal is to use my stuff, I've been making
multiples of my cards if I had pre-made bases for it.

Blue Spring (2012 Mission: Use It! Card Edition )

These cards are beautiful with soft blues, ivory, silver & white. Sweet yet simple elements make each card pure loveliness!

I used embellishments that I had previously created,
including the tag & the layered flower.

Boutique Bride ( Mission 2012: Use It! Card Edition )

Originally, I made this pair as invitations for a bridal shower, but they would be perfect for gifting to a bride. They have a special bonus included, too - A handmade chocolate brown boutique bow clip! The tag can be moved & used by itself as well as card still looks fabulous without it.

Spring Flowers (2012 Mission: Use It! Card Edition)

These cards are the first in a collection of creations that I am making as my goal for 2012: Use it! Instead of buying, storing & basically just imagining, I am going to actually use my craft supplies. A novel idea, huh?

The pansy is a vellum sticker that I placed on paper,
trimmed, added a rhinestone & raised up for more dimension.
