Chippy Bling (Mission 2012: Use It!)

I used the sketch from The Pixie Cottage. Instead of the "blocks", I used these chipboard motifs that I colored with markers & embellished with rhinestones. I kept this card clean & simple, but I couldn't resist adding lots of "bling" - It's a favorite of mine as I believe everything needs a little sparkle & shine.

Blue Spring (2012 Mission: Use It! Card Edition )

These cards are beautiful with soft blues, ivory, silver & white. Sweet yet simple elements make each card pure loveliness!

I used embellishments that I had previously created,
including the tag & the layered flower.

How To: Butterfly Embellishment

These butterfly embellishments are super easy to create & you only need 3 materials: chenille stick (aka pipe cleaner), wire & cardstock.

1. Cut butterfly wings from cardstock by hand or use a die cut (which is what I did.)

2. Cut chenille stick to fit in the center of the wings. Length varies on wings & your personal preference.

3. Cut a length of wire longer than you think you'll need. Wrap wire around chenille stick, so there are even lengths of wire on each side. Keep in mind that this will also create the butterfly's head, so do not wrap it too low. Curl ends of wire to form circles.

4. Attach butterfly body to its wings. Ta-dah! You have an easy butterfly to embellish your crafts.
