Please & Thank You, Retro Revival Boutique

Let's get this out there before anything else.
First, this is not an ad. I didn't receive any money or free product.
As a supporter of handmade, I can't help but share my finds with others.

I paid for these two sets of earrings. And I'm very pleased with them!

~ Thank you, Retro Revival Boutique ~
(I will call them RRB in this post for short, by the way.)

Welcome to Night Vale Inspired Earrings
RRB was inspired by a podcast called Welcome to Night Vale.
I've never watched it, but I was captured by the weird yet pretty look of these.
They are just as wonderful in person - Excited to wear them out!

Button Beaded Earrings
Funky, vintage style. Love it!
Both sets were well-made and they shipped very fast.
I'm already looking over RRB again for more :)

Clockwise, left to right: 1. Summertime Beaded Bib Necklace; 2. Exotic Bird Necklace; 3. Mod Golden Triangle Dangle Earrings; 4. Vintage Buttons Crocheted Bib Necklace 5. Purple Filigree & Red Crystal Chandelier Earrings
When you are in search of jewelry, I recommend Retro Revival Boutique.
I enjoyed my experience and I'm sure you will, too!

Oh, So Fabulous Teams - A Refreshed Look #02

For my 2nd treasury on Etsy, I celebrated sellers in the Etsy teams that I belonged to.
It was originally posted on May 26, 2011, but has since emptied of its photos.
This is what is left . . .

Oh, So Fabulous Teams by Corrinne Quinn

Unfortunately, I don't recall what teams were used. That's why one should list them.
(That's a note to self - wink.)

To refresh it, I chose four that I enjoy participating in:

Are you involved in any teams? Share them in the comments or - better yet - create an Etsy treasury.
It's a fun way to discover new shops and promote your fellow artists and crafters.

And if you aren't a part of a team, join one or simply visit its members.

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

Why did the chicken cross the road? Well, there are plenty of reasons.
But the question is more - why did I cross the road?
Because there was a chicken and I had a slight fear of chickens.

Yes. Ridiculous, but there is a perfectly good reason.
It stems from my childhood when we spent time at my uncle's home.
My uncle had a trampoline - you know, a big one - in the backyard.
You had to walk a little ways to get to it 'cause his backyard was a good size.

He also had chickens and a rooster. The rooster was a mean son of a - er - jerk.
Yeah, he was a very, very mean bird! Now this rooster would chase you.
Like really, really chase you. And you didn't want to be caught by him. Oh, no, you didn't.

He got a piece of my uncle's toe once.
All of us kids had a healthy dose of fear AND respect.
No one wants a sharp beak tearing your appendages.

One day when I was a girl, I ran to the trampoline. Woo!
Made it. Fingers, toes, legs and all are good.
Jump, jump . . more jumping . . Jump, jump - Okay, you get it.

Time to go back inside. I look left, look right, look down.
I don't see him. Let's do this. All I have to do is go.
I jump off the trampoline and I see him from the corner of my eye.

I run. I run like a crazy rooster is chasing me. He was fast and he almost caught me.
Luckily, there was an empty plastic kiddie pool. I leap over it and kick it back.

I see that he is stuck behind that pool. I never stopped running, though.
I didn't stop running or look back until I was shutting the sliding glass door behind me.
Then I just took a breath. I survived!

Now, that happened many years ago. Since then, I have learned more about these incredible creatures.
I've come to adore them. However, I will still walk lightly & watchful about them - Ha!

Share a random childhood story of your own in the comments. I would enjoy reading about it :)

A Fashionable Cook

{ Tulip Apron With Heart Neckline }

Aprons have come a long way from just protecting your clothing from food splatters while cooking up a meal for your family. They are now little pieces of fashion with lots of feminine touches & fun patterns!

Heart & Sow Designs definitely understands a woman's need to be pretty no matter what she's doing. These aprons are perfect for everyday, but they also work perfectly for parties as they look like beautiful dresses. In fact, you'll probably wish it was a full outfit!

Heart & Sow Designs offers a variety of styles. All of them are fun, fun, fun! And one size fits most. If you don't need an apron, Heart & Sow Designs has lots of other pieces, such as hair accessories, scarves & tote bags along with inspirational items.

{ Rainbow Polka Dots Apron }

Heart & Sow Designs' creations are handmade by one woman. When she was a teenager, Gail Metcalfe learned to sew from her mother. They would often times make her clothing together. She has been sewing ever since & it's been over 30 years now!

She is a natural crafter, so she's created many things from party cakes to wedding bouquets. Her love has always been fabric, so she's stayed with creating fabric accessories.

She enjoys using fun patterns & adding a vintage flair. She also uses recycled fabrics - What an eco-friendly woman! She also does custom orders. She loves to work with people to come up with a completely one of a kind creation.

Vintage Could Never Be So Lovely!

Oohh . . I was completely delighted by My European Touch today! This shop offers perfectly beautiful mosaic art & refurbished vintage pieces. It's filled with shabby & cottage chic creations that will add style and functionality to your home.

{ Mosaic Window Pane Wall Art }
My European Touch is made up of one artist. She has been an artist for her entire life! She has worked in a variety of mediums, although, she has been enjoying mosaics for the past 8 years. Specializing in the "Pique Assiette/Tesserae" mosaic style, she transforms vintage plates into artistic designs that are always one of a kind. She is addicted to the mosaic arts & her love of it can be seen every piece that she makes.

This wall art is a gorgeous example of wall art that she created using vintage china plates & stained glass. It's a one of a kind piece!

My European Touch doesn't just feature mosaics. It also offers refurbished vintage pieces, such as this charming tea pot. It was unsalvageable, or at least you would think so. She sanded, primed & painted it before adding a minimal of embellishes. Isn't it amazing how something old & unusable can be transformed into something so beautiful? This piece would be perfect for a tea party or just displayed in your home.

If you would like to see more of My European Touch's vintage creations, click here. I'm positive you will find something you love. I sure did :)

Be Inspired: Create Something New With Something Old

It is so wonderful to discover an eco-friendly artist. To create one of a kind jewelry, Daffydill uses old bits & pieces from her years of collecting, repairing & cleaning vintage pieces. She combines old parts with new pieces for unique accessories. The majority of her creations are made entirely of repurposed materials. How inspiring!

Daffydill can be found at her shop or blog. Her shop is currently offering a Spring Cleaning sale & if you leave a comment, you can receive an additional 5% off your purchase. She doesn't just stick to jewelry, either. She also creates baby footwear at Mock Mocs.

Star & Twine Old-Fashioned Clothes Pins look fantastic sprawled inside a bowl as well as strung upon a line as added decor for your banners. Their tops have a gentle sprinkling of glitter for added sparkle! These were originally made in Sky Blue as seen below.

Thanks to a customer request I created them using a hot pink, which turned out to be super cute as well with being very feminine & fun.
