Please & Thank You, Retro Revival Boutique

Let's get this out there before anything else.
First, this is not an ad. I didn't receive any money or free product.
As a supporter of handmade, I can't help but share my finds with others.

I paid for these two sets of earrings. And I'm very pleased with them!

~ Thank you, Retro Revival Boutique ~
(I will call them RRB in this post for short, by the way.)

Welcome to Night Vale Inspired Earrings
RRB was inspired by a podcast called Welcome to Night Vale.
I've never watched it, but I was captured by the weird yet pretty look of these.
They are just as wonderful in person - Excited to wear them out!

Button Beaded Earrings
Funky, vintage style. Love it!
Both sets were well-made and they shipped very fast.
I'm already looking over RRB again for more :)

Clockwise, left to right: 1. Summertime Beaded Bib Necklace; 2. Exotic Bird Necklace; 3. Mod Golden Triangle Dangle Earrings; 4. Vintage Buttons Crocheted Bib Necklace 5. Purple Filigree & Red Crystal Chandelier Earrings
When you are in search of jewelry, I recommend Retro Revival Boutique.
I enjoyed my experience and I'm sure you will, too!

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

Why did the chicken cross the road? Well, there are plenty of reasons.
But the question is more - why did I cross the road?
Because there was a chicken and I had a slight fear of chickens.

Yes. Ridiculous, but there is a perfectly good reason.
It stems from my childhood when we spent time at my uncle's home.
My uncle had a trampoline - you know, a big one - in the backyard.
You had to walk a little ways to get to it 'cause his backyard was a good size.

He also had chickens and a rooster. The rooster was a mean son of a - er - jerk.
Yeah, he was a very, very mean bird! Now this rooster would chase you.
Like really, really chase you. And you didn't want to be caught by him. Oh, no, you didn't.

He got a piece of my uncle's toe once.
All of us kids had a healthy dose of fear AND respect.
No one wants a sharp beak tearing your appendages.

One day when I was a girl, I ran to the trampoline. Woo!
Made it. Fingers, toes, legs and all are good.
Jump, jump . . more jumping . . Jump, jump - Okay, you get it.

Time to go back inside. I look left, look right, look down.
I don't see him. Let's do this. All I have to do is go.
I jump off the trampoline and I see him from the corner of my eye.

I run. I run like a crazy rooster is chasing me. He was fast and he almost caught me.
Luckily, there was an empty plastic kiddie pool. I leap over it and kick it back.

I see that he is stuck behind that pool. I never stopped running, though.
I didn't stop running or look back until I was shutting the sliding glass door behind me.
Then I just took a breath. I survived!

Now, that happened many years ago. Since then, I have learned more about these incredible creatures.
I've come to adore them. However, I will still walk lightly & watchful about them - Ha!

Share a random childhood story of your own in the comments. I would enjoy reading about it :)

Some cultures believe the elephant is a cosmic creature.
It carries the world on its back. This one holds down papers.

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue . . .

Roses are red, violets are blue . . . a poem that starts with this typically ends with an expression of love. Unless you like to be snarky, but we won't go that route - Ha! If you enjoy giving gifts, let roses & violets inspire you to choose one for your loved one.

Have you already gotten ready for the big LOVE day? If not, now is the time. Please don't be a procrastinator. It's just not the thing to do if you celebrate this day with your love. Otherwise, you end up giving a crappy card, boring box of chocolates, and not-so-fresh flowers.

Blessings and joy, yours truly . . . Corrinne Quinn
