4 DIY Fashion Tricks For Sneakers

When your everyday sneakers start to get boring (or show a bit of wear), you can easily change them up in fun & fashionable ways. Elastic strips, paint, studs (or rhinestones), and glitter make them unique footwear. And they are all easy to do.

Have you upcycled your sneaks? Leave a comment & share your photo. I'd love to see your style!

(DIY Tutorials, Clockwise: 1. Elastic, 2. Painted, 3. Studded, 4. Glittered.)

You also have another option, especially if you are not such a crafty individual. You can donate the shoes (only if they are in good condition, please) that you no longer need to several organizations that help those in need:

Soles 4 Souls is global non-profit dedicated to fighting the devastating impact of poverty through donating used/new shoes & clothing along with funds.

- Donate Your Old Shoes has a simple mission: "Put shoes on the shoeless world" because their are many people walking barefoot due to lack of resources.

And, of course, once you donate your shoes, you may just need new ones, right? Support an individual  by buying handmade.

What type of shoes do you wear? I'm like Mr. Rogers. A pair for different parts of my day. Crocs for inside of my house - Lots of wood floors, so they give my feet cushioning. Sneakers for daytime. Feminine heels & flats for fancier occasions. You get the idea. What are your favorites?

Blessings & joy, yours truly . . . Corrinne Quinn

Don't Use It? Recycle It!

While doing a little cleaning, I came across a crumbled paper bag. What is this? Surprisingly, it was filled with old jewelry that I used to wear many years ago. I worked at Claire's briefly, so I took advantage of their great employee discount, purchasing lots & lots of jewelry.

This is one of the necklaces. I don't wear jewelry very much, so I decided to scrap it. The pendant will make a wonderful & unique embellishment! Top TIP For TTT: Instead of just throwing away old jewelry, break it down & use the pieces in your crafts.

I added it to this creation after removing it from its chain - Very easy work. I now have a chain that I can use for another creation.

Have you ever used jewelry on your creations? What have you recycled/upcycled lately?

This card was submitted to wonderful challenge blogs - See below for links & details, so you can create your own & join in the fun!

Be Inspired: Create Something New With Something Old

It is so wonderful to discover an eco-friendly artist. To create one of a kind jewelry, Daffydill uses old bits & pieces from her years of collecting, repairing & cleaning vintage pieces. She combines old parts with new pieces for unique accessories. The majority of her creations are made entirely of repurposed materials. How inspiring!

Daffydill can be found at her shop or blog. Her shop is currently offering a Spring Cleaning sale & if you leave a comment, you can receive an additional 5% off your purchase. She doesn't just stick to jewelry, either. She also creates baby footwear at Mock Mocs.
