Apples Are Roses

Apples are a member of the Rose family (along with apricots and almonds.)
An apple a day is good for you as it offers a variety of health benefits.
So, the old saying is actually quite true!

Eat one fresh & whole or enjoy this tasty fruit in one of these recipes:

Explore Color: Black, White & Gray

Pin & Tack explores color: Black, white & gray.
Are they considered colors? I think so and they can be oh, so lovely.

Digital scrapbook layout by me. A black-and-white photo stands out among black, white & gray elements. It's never wrong to stick with a simple color combination.

Pillow Covers by ShadoBox. Sometimes, a "lack" of color is colorful enough, especially with a bold pattern.

Tablecloth by Mila Style. With this modern tablecloth, you can keep everything else simple. Use a single shade, such as a rich red, for the dinnerware to create an elegant look.

Frames by Huckleberry Vintage. Color or black-and-white photos - Either work with these stunning collection of frames.

Inspired to use black, white & gray? Here's just a few more to enjoy . . .

A Is For . . . (Blogging From A To Z Challenge 2014)

Welcome to Blogging From A To Z series with Pin & Tack.
It's all about challenging yourself to write based on a letter.

Today's letter is . . .

My automatic thought was "apples" - Ha ha ha. Not very creative, right? Well, I don't mind going with the easy, but I decided to try a few different words.

My inspiration is handmade. I adore all things handmade. I spend a little too much time checking out others' craftiness. Now, I can justify it. I must look 'cause I need some As to share with you!

Did you enjoy this little exploration? What A word would you have chosen?
Don't be shy - share yours in the comments & stay tuned tomorrow when I explore the B word.

What lady doesn't like flowers, glitter & ribbon? Well, I definitely do!

Stop by Allsorts for the special coupon code.
Hurry up, though, 'cause it ends when the challenge does - March 9th.

Crafty Creations Challenge #194: Just One

Just one . . I'm sure you want to know what that means for our newest challenge at Crafty Creations.

It's a recipe challenge, but you can only use one of each: embellishment, image, paper & word. Sounds easy, right? Well, go ahead & give it a try, then . . . Sometimes it's not as easy as it looks :)

Our sponsor is The Stamping Boutique, who generously provided the image for this creation.

I hope so! I would enjoy seeing what you come up with. I'm sure it will be a sport or two or maybe just the colors. Whatever sparks your creativity will be perfect!

Ok, I know . . that was horrible, but I hope you enjoyed it even if it's just a wee bit :)

Anything But A Card Challenge #5: Black

I invite you to join the Anything But A Card challenge. It's all about black, so add this color to your creations and share it with us today!

I decided to create clippies. Black grosgrain ribbon was shaped into bows, then topped with layers of fabric flower shapes & finished with a fun lady bug.

Boo From Skeleton

Oh, boy, am I bummed! I moderate any comments left on my blog.
And what did I do? I clicked "Delete" instead of "Publish" - Doh, doh, doh!
Eighteen comments were lost and there's nothing I can do to get them back.

Unfortunately, Blogger doesn't have a place that stores deleted comments.
Nor do they ask you if you really want to delete them before actually deleting them.
Ok, ok, I'll man up. I did click "Delete" after all.

{PIN}spirational Challenge #30: Photo - Autumn Or Halloween?

Use the unexpected! Anything can be an embellishment as long as you keep your options open and your mind creative. The skulls are actually cheap plastic rings. I cut the band off and what do I have? Spooktastic details :)

At {PIN}spirational Challenge, we are challenging you to share your creativity with a little inspiration from a photo found on Pinterest.
You can see the photo below.

Our sponsor this week is the fantastically fun CardMadFairy, so why not stop by with your project for a chance to win?

Let's Party With The Witches

TIP: Use whatever you have to embellish a card. There is no limit to what can be attached!

Take these two witches. Do you know what they are? I'll give you to a count of five.

One . . Two . . Three . . Four . . Five . .

Have you figured it out yet? Well, if you haven't that's okay. They are erasers. Yep.

Wicked

I have been on a mission. I wanted to use up all of my Halloween supplies, especially since they are over a year old. It was fun . . . well, the first three or four, but I'm getting towards the end. Ok, maybe not the end of my supplies, but definitely the end of making Halloween cards!

I have a stack of them already in their envelopes, sealed & ready to be sent, but I still have many more to give AND make.

Do you send out Halloween cards? I usually don't. My mission is making me do it :)

Anything But A Card Challenge #4: Fall/Halloween

Happy Fall! Happy Halloween! It's your choice what will inspire you for our fourth challenge at Anything But A Card Challenges. Like it's name, this challenge requires you to think outside of the card box and create something different.

For my project, I create a chalkboard frame. All the lovely dark purple (including the flower shape) is ready for you to write a message with chalk, erase, then write again.

I painted, distressed, then sealed this fun piece of useable home decor. The finishing touches were a smart grosgrain ribbon bow & one-eyed monster.

Fun, fun, fun!
