Throwback Thursday: May 2, 2011

SOLD! To the woman who enjoys friends & drinks with friends on May 2, 2011.
"I really like this," she wrote. Well, that is exactly what I wanted to see.

Sadly, there isn't another, but you can MAKE YOUR OWN!

{ Scrapbook Canvas Art }

You can create this in any theme, style or color that you prefer.
That's what makes it so fun & easy - Your imagination is the limit!

Supplies needed:

Canvas (4"x4" shown.)
Tape or glue
Scrapbook papers
Ribbon
Buttons, die cuts
Stamp, ink

1. Wrap scrapbook paper around the canvas like you would a present, so that the folds are on the sides and back.

2. Wrap & glue ribbon around the sides to cover up any folds from the paper.

3. Stamp image onto a piece of scrapbook paper, then cut it to be smaller than the size of the canvas.

4. Add embellishments to the corners.

Tip: If using a small canvas, pick up a mini easel, so you can display it.

These can be relatively inexpensive, so they would make great gifts, such as bridesmaids, birthdays, or Christmas.

They will be a special way to share your creativity with others.

If you need ideas, checkout scrapbook layouts or page maps.

Have you made or received a piece of canvas art? Old or new, share it in the comments!
And if you decide to make one now, share that, too. I always enjoy viewing others' projects.

With blessings & joy, yours truly . . . Corrinne Quinn

H Is For Handful (Blogging From A To Z)

Welcome to Blogging From A To Z with Pin & Tack.
A letter is given and ya have to be inspired.

Today's letter is . . .

A handful is supposed to be enough. But is it really? These handmade & vintage finds leave me wanting more. So, let's have two - or three - handfuls instead ;)

Idea: Use in crafts or simply display haphazardly in a pretty dish.
Handful of Vintage Green Buttons
"You're not a crazy cat person" just because you like these!
Handful of Cats
Gems are always welcome in my home. Don't you agree?
Handful of Gems

What would you like to have a handful of? Share it in the comments, my friends! If you don't know what a handful is, well, here is a tip for you.

Blessings & joy, yours truly . . . Corrinne Quinn

{PIN}spirational Challenge #28: Photo - Red Jacket With Pink Roses

How do you turn a rustic jean jacket into something sweet & fashionable? Dye it red and embellish with pink fabric roses - Isn't that a wonderful idea?

This week at {PIN}spirational Challenges we challenge you to create something being inspired by this photo.  There is lots to draw from, so I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Our sponsor is Folded Paper, so definitely stop by and share a photo inspired creation with us :)

For my creation, I used this fantastic paper with wood grain on it. Pink rickrack stretches across the card dotted by velvet red bows. To finish the look, I embellished the bows with big bold buttons tied with pink thread.

Lady Anne's Paper Crafts: Friday Sentiments - Encouraging & Corners

This is my first creation as design team member for Lady Anne's Paper Crafts, a Ning group that offers challenges in a variety of themes for every day of the week. Everyone is welcome to join us and play, so head on over for inspiration & crafting fun!

I'm a part of the Friday Sentiments Team, so every creation will have a sentiment along with a "twist." The twist for this week is corners while the sentiment is encouranging.

I made the photo corners by using an easy corner bookmark tutorial, then jazzed them up with flowers, ribbons & star buttons (which I removed the shanks from, so they would lay flat.)

Album Swap: Spoiler Alert For Lady Anne

I am a part of a fabulous Ning group called Lady Anne's Paper Crafts. It's a fun place to join in challenges along with swaps.

This album was created just for Lady Anne for an album swap. In return, she is sending me an album that she created, which I will share with you when I receive it (of course.)

It's my very first swap of any kind. I'm super excited!

I have SO much purple that I decided this album would feature that royal color. The pages have places where Lady Anne can add her own photos. It can be tied closed with grosgrain ribbon.

Also, if she wants to add more pages, she can do so quite easily.

Hello, Dear Butterfly

I enjoy working with brown, but it can be difficult to use when it's the only color your supposed to use (besides neutrals.)

It took constant reminder that I couldn't add pink, blue or just something!

Have you tried to work with just one color? Did you enjoy it?

(Digital stamp by A Day For Daisies was used.)

Something Flower

Scrapper's Delights will be one of our sponsors at Tuesday Alchemy in an upcoming challenge. I was lucky enough to use one of their digital stamps - Isn't she a cutie?

Simple elements & glittered cardstock make this card perfectly fun yet elegant!

Do you have any elements that you love to use? Are they fancy or simple?

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #23: Button, Button, Whose Got A Button?

Do you have buttons? I have a few. I'm sure you do, too. Why not use them this week for Tuesday Alchemy's challenge? All you have to do is add one to ANY craft, share it with us & you could win a prize!

The prize is provided by Robyn's Fetish. They offer a variety of digital stamps for every style, occasion & need. Come play with us & you may just win FIVE digital stamps of your choice. Wouldn't that be fantastic? Yep, I know it would.

For this creation, I used a digital stamp from Robyn's Fetish. I added a smattering of buttons, faux flowers & twine. It's CAS, yet so much fun AND it's made up of my favorite color scheme: red & light blue.

"There is no snooze button on a cat
who wants breakfast."
- Unknown

"I say, if you believe what you read in comic strips, then you believe that mice run around with gold buttons on their pants & drive cars."
- Mort Walker

"It usually takes two people a little while to learn where the funny buttons are and the testy buttons are."

Since I adore these colors, you can find them among my other creations, too!

A Random Collage

My mission this year is to use what I already have stashed away in my craft studio. This piece fully represents that.

A wood box lid was painted to be used as the "canvas." Then I picked random embellishments & combined them into a collage.

This piece resides happily in my living room.

Thank You Very Much

The main feature of this creation is the vibrant blue glitter flourish. It started out as plain, unaltered chipboard. I painted, glittered & sealed it before adding hemp twine & two flower buttons layered atop each other.

Red, White & Cupcake!

Here is a quick & easy card. It features a damask pocket (handmade by me, of course), satin ribbon, flower buttons & black rhinestones. Oh, yeah, don't forget the stamped cupcake on the flat card tucked into the pocket. CAS!
