Ok, I know . . that was horrible, but I hope you enjoyed it even if it's just a wee bit :)

{PIN}spirational Challenge #30: Photo - Autumn Or Halloween?

Use the unexpected! Anything can be an embellishment as long as you keep your options open and your mind creative. The skulls are actually cheap plastic rings. I cut the band off and what do I have? Spooktastic details :)

At {PIN}spirational Challenge, we are challenging you to share your creativity with a little inspiration from a photo found on Pinterest.
You can see the photo below.

Our sponsor this week is the fantastically fun CardMadFairy, so why not stop by with your project for a chance to win?

{PIN}spirational Challenge #28: Photo - Red Jacket With Pink Roses

How do you turn a rustic jean jacket into something sweet & fashionable? Dye it red and embellish with pink fabric roses - Isn't that a wonderful idea?

This week at {PIN}spirational Challenges we challenge you to create something being inspired by this photo.  There is lots to draw from, so I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Our sponsor is Folded Paper, so definitely stop by and share a photo inspired creation with us :)

For my creation, I used this fantastic paper with wood grain on it. Pink rickrack stretches across the card dotted by velvet red bows. To finish the look, I embellished the bows with big bold buttons tied with pink thread.

{PIN}spirational Challenge #26: Photo - Maple Tree In Autumn

Welcome, Autumn!

We are celebrating this beautiful season with a gorgeous tree for inspiration at {PIN}spirational Challenges.

Our sponsor is the wonderful Stitchy Bear Stamps. While I haven't used one of their digis in this creation, I have in the past (click here) & will definitely be doing so in the future.

Are you inspired? If so, please share your creation with us. I can't wait to see it!
This creation is all about using what I have.
The only item that is "new" is the grosgrain ribbon, which is my new obsession!

The polka dot chipboard flower (right side) is at least 3 years old! Talk about hoarding :)

Have you been using up your stash lately? What is the oldest item you have in your supplies?

{PIN}spirational Challenge #24: Photo Inspiration - Cat & Daisy

Are you a "cat person"? Well, I definitely am! I love dogs, but cats are so independent, which I love.

For {PIN}spirational Challenges, you are challenged to create any craft using the photo as inspiration. Isn't this kitty oh, so cute?

Do you have any cats? I do. My cat is 13 years old, a big 'ol orange tabby with the sweetest personality and a complete mama's boy. He's been there for me through everything and is my oldest friend.

The idea behind this creation came from my fellow teammate at Tuesday Alchemy, Marion. I created a mirror with the reflection of the girl in it. Thanks, Marion, for the wonderful idea!

The girl's funky dress and hat were made with lots of dots of white & hot pink. Super fun!

This week's sponsor at {PIN}spirational Challenges provided the digital stamp. Fresh Brewed Designs creates stamps of all kinds, including rubber and digital. It's where "creativity is brewed fresh daily."

{PIN}spirational Challenge #22: Photo Inspiration - Mermaid

Join us at {PIN}spirational Challenges for lovely, whimsical fun! Every week a new photo from Pinterest is used for inspiration. This week is this adorable little mermaid. Although, the photo appears quite simple and to the point, there are lots of different ways you can go about it.

What do you see that inspires you? Whatever it is, I'd love for you to share it with us at {PIN}spirational Challenges!

Our sponsor is Michelle Perkett, who was very generous to provide the digital stamp that I used in this creation.

Her mermaid is gorgeous, whimsical & just wonderful to work with!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #18: Photo Inspiration - Clock

The older I get, the faster time seems to go. As a child, I dreamed of everything I would do, see & create! It would be fantastic & fun.

Well, it is. Yeah, it definitely is, but it's also a lot of other things like paying bills, buying groceries, cleaning house & what seems to be an endless stream of other work. This is why it's important to stop & smell the roses, & definitely - always - enjoy the journey.

I had previously made the card bases, so I decided to finally use them & create a little set. I'll be including a card with purchases from my shop, Pin & Tack, until they are gone. It's always lovely to receive a little gift with purchase :)

These mini cards were inspired by the challenge from {PIN}spirational Challenges. We were asked to create something using this photo as inspiration. This photo offers A LOT of ideas with its rustic textures & colored tiles, but I decided to stick with the most basic element, the clock.

We would love for you to create something as well & share it with us! We have a wonderful sponsor, Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps, this week, so you may win a prize for your creativity.

Here is a rustic creation that I made previously. It's base is actually craft sticks that I painted & pieced together for a "plaque."

It's always based on a photo from Pinterest, which makes this challenge blog unique & lots of fun!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #16: Photo Inspiration - Finally

Aaww . . . isn't this photo just SO romantic? It is our inspirational photo at {PIN}spirational Challenges this week. I adore how simple yet absolutely lovely it is!

You know what else is lovely? Our sponsor, that's what! Crafty Sentiments is giving one of our lucky participants THREE digital stamps to play with - YEAH! They also offer clear stamps, die cutters & more for crafters like us to be creative.

"Whatever our souls are made of,
His and mine are the same."
- Emily Bronte

When I originally saw the challenge, I had an entirely different idea in my head. It all changed when I remembered that I had these wonderful wedding stickers & vellum quote.

I added a handmade flower (I just can't stop making these!), pearls, tulle & a faux diamond ring. Ta-dah!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #15: Photo Inspiration - Fairies

This week at {PIN}spirational Challenges, we are inspired by another fabulous photo found on Pinterest. Isn't that just lovely? This is what I love about {PIN}spirational Challenges. It's a unique way to offer up a challenge & I know that our team coordinator, Deanne, just loves to look through Pinterest for pictures that will spark creativity.

If this inspires you, won't you come join us? You could win a fantastic prize from our sponsor, Doodle Dragon. They provide quirky & super fun digital stamps for creating happiness. And that's my mantra: Happiness is creating & creating is happiness!

Ok, so obviously I was inspired by the fairies - who wouldn't be? Unfortunately, I didn't have any fairies in my supplies. Nope, not a one. I could have searched for freebies, but this is the year of use it.

Therefore, I decided to go with the pink color & flowers. I also added a few sentiments (very old embellishments that needed to be enjoyed) that made me think of fairies. The butterfly is a rub-on that I included because it has wings like those whimsical creatures.

{PIN}spirational Challenge #14: Inspirational Photo - Sailboat

This week at {PIN}spirational Challenges, we are inspired by a very fun photo of a sailboat scene. Isn't it adorable? Everything is made from fabric. The cloud is puffy & white because it's stuffing. This is such a creative photo. I enjoyed viewing all of those fabulous details.

Our sponsor at {PIN}spirational Challenges is Di's Digi Downloads. They are giving one lucky participant a $10 Store Voucher! What a wonderful prize :)

I created my own sailboat using fabric scraps & a dark blue piece of felt that I cut to shape. The cloud is also felt that I cut by hand. A bit of twine & cotton mesh completed this card for me.

Have you ever traveled the seas on a sailboat? I have not, but it's definitely something I know that I would enjoy . . . if I don't get sick.

I was on a very small boat in Hawaii & it was very choppy water. I got sick! Ug, ug, yuck, but at least I had a big ocean to throw my lunch into & not on my neighbors. I know that they were quite thankful for that!

Was that a little too much information? I apologize if it was :) Changing the subject, I'd love to have you share your own interpretation of the photo. Link it up at {PIN}spirational Challenges.

{PIN}spirational Challenge #13: Inspiration Photo - Butterfly Cupcakes

A new Tuesday means a new challenge at {PIN}spirational Challenges. This week, we are inspired by cupcakes covered in a creamy mint frosting & topped with pretzel butterflies. Sweets always taste better when they look so beautiful, right?

How does this photo inspire you? Are you taken by the colors? The cupcakes or their unique embellishments? We would love to see what you come up! Create something new & share it with us at {PIN}spirational Challenges.

By participating, you have a chance to win a prize from this week's sponsor, Melonheadz. Their digital graphics are very cute & have that illustrated look for lots of fun!

Ok, so, yeah . . . I loved this picture & I was inspired by it rather quickly. It's always nice when that happens! I quickly put together this creation. It's CAS, but oh, so lovely :)

Instead of making cupcakes, I decided to create an ice cream cone as I'd already done the cupcakes on a past {PIN}spirational challenge. If you are like me, you enjoy a triple decker cone. Who wants just one scoop, anyway?

The ice cream & the cone was made using foam that I covered with glitter embossed cardstock. It's shiny & sparkly, although, you may not be able to tell from the photo. The butterflies are die cuts. I gently bent them in the middle to give more dimension to them.

I decided to keep it completely CAS, so the entire focus is on that yummy dessert.

Recommendation: Chocolate Peanut Butter, Organic So Delicious (Turtle Mountain.)
{ Fun Facts }

The U.S.A. enjoys an average of 48 pints of ice cream per person a year. That's more than any other country! (I'm not quite sure if this is something to be proud of.)

July is National Ice Cream Month in the U.S.A. It was proclaimed as such in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan.

What is the most ice cream cones prepared in a minute? Nineteen!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #12: Inspiration Photo - Charlie Brown

This week at {PIN}spirational Challenges, we were given a photo of Charlie Brown. I took inspiration in the colors, especially Charlie's shirt. I chose to do a CAS card. The polka dots, including those on the "play", are all painted by hand.

This card was submitted to wonderful challenge blogs - See below for links & details, so you can create your own & join in the fun!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #11: Inspiration Photo - Sea Shells

At {PIN}spirational Challenges, we are inspired by a photo of gorgeous sea shells. And sea shells always remind me of the beach - Duh, right? It's SO time for the beach! It's June, the sun is shining (hopefully!) & the ocean is just calling my name. Here I come sand, surf & sea . . .

The shells are actually necklaces from Kauai. My partner & I both received one from a little shop just for visiting it. I decided to use them in my crafts as I don't wear shell jewelry.

{PIN}spirational Challenge #10: Inspiration Photo - Girls At The Seashore

What better way to spend a sunny day than at the seashore? Yeah, you'll get sand in places you don't want to mention, but it's totally worth it. One of my favorite things is to feel sand between my toes, smell the fresh ocean air, listening to the crashing waves & view the beauty that is the sea.

At {PIN}spirational Challenges, we are inspired by a photo of two girls playing at the seashore. This made me think of getting to the beach. Before you actually see the ocean, you often see a sign pointing you in the right direction. That is what my whimsical creation is all about.

The sign's post was made using a real twig from my backyard.

{PIN}spirational Challenges #8: Inspiration Photo

This week's challenge for {PIN}spirational Challenges was a challenge for me. I love the image & I was inspired. I had this complicated idea - lots of buckles, black fabric & sexiness. The idea wasn't realistic, though, because I just didn't have the supplies.

Yes, I could have bought some, but I'm on a mission this year to use what I already have. I scavenged through my supplies & I came up with the eyelets, fabric scraps & metal bead strand. Wa-lah! Here is my creation - It's definitely CAS and sexy. I love it!

I was visiting a few blogs last week & I found this tutorial for making carnations. It was created by BusyBusyHoneybee. She has photos for every step AND it's super easy! Isn't my carnation just fantastic?

This card was created exclusively for {PIN}spirational Challenges. We'd love for you to play with us and you could win a fabulous prize, too!

{PIN}spirational Challenges #7: Inspiration Photo

For this week at {PIN}spirational Challenges, I was inspired by the textures & neutral colors of the photo. I used a variety of embellishes, including one of my own distressed clothes pins - Isn't it a wonderful addition?

Underneath the clothes pin, you will find a handmade crochet flower. I cut a strip of muslin using my NON-fabric scissors (If you cut fabric, you know what I mean!) so it would be rough & jagged.

Take a little trip to {PIN}spirational Challenges, so you can see the inspiration photo & play with us!

{PIN}spirational Challenge #6: Inspirational Photo

This week at {PIN}spirational Challenges we are inspired by a sweet photo of a poodle. In this creation, I created my poodle by using cotton balls. They work wonderfully in creating the "poofy" look of a poodle's hair. One cotton ball was used for the center, then I cut another one in half for the ears.

Unfortunately, this card has a "Doh!" in it. I was so busy tying the bow with the white ribbon that I didn't realize that it was tearing into the card. Doh! I was not happy about this at all. Since this was the last step in the card, I just left it as is. There already is so much going on that I didn't want to add more embellishments to hide it. Do you have a "Doh!"? I'd love for you to share it with me :)

You are invited to join us in this challenge & I would enjoy seeing what you come up! Go to {PIN}spirational Challenges for the inspiration photo, so you can start creating today.
