Search: Red

When you enter "red" into the search, this is only a few delights that you will find. Red is a stand alone color, but it works with so many others. It's power, love & fun all wrapped up into one fabulous color.

{Clockwise, left to right: 1. Clothes Pins,  2. Chalkboard, 3. Magnets, 4. Thumb Tacks, 5. Clothesline, 6. Home Decor}

When you choose these red items, you support all of the animals at Animal Place. They will receive $1 from each listing sold, which will provide food, shelter and safety.

4 Ways To Use Clothes Pins Creatively In Your Home

While they were originally used to hang clothes to dry, that is no longer their main purpose. Now, they offer functionality in other ways along with creating aesthetically pleasing decoration.

Blaine Collection - Plum Distressed Clothes Pins Variety

My clothes pins are painted by hand, distressed, glittered (if preferred) and sealed. What you do with them after that is completely up to your own imagination! However, I am happy to give you a few ideas for using them in creative ways . . .

How have you used your clothes pins? I'm oh, so delighted to see what you've done with yours. And you may just receive a discount if your photo displays my clothes pins in wonderful way!

Reflect with Illustration Friday

A newly found challenge from Illustration Friday sparked my creativity to try my hand at digital drawing, exploring a medium that I wouldn't normally go to. Plus, my camera needed to be charged and I can sit in my recliner here to do it. Ha ha ha!

It's the very first time I've done this, I know that it looks like a child's hand took up the "pencil." But I actually enjoy the look of it. A pig in a cloud of love & peace.

This is what Pigs Peace Sanctuary has brought me during the last two months of actively supporting this safe haven for abused, neglected & unwanted pigs. It reminded me why I became vegan in the first place and it has changed the focus of my shop & other creative energies.

There are only a few more days left before I explore & share another organization in this new journey o' mine. $1 from every item sold at Pin & Tack will go to Pigs Peace Sanctuary; although, donating directly would be so wonderful!

You Deserve A Gold Heart

For this creation, I recycled organza ribbon from a gift, giving it new life and another purpose.

The gold hearts are brads, but I removed their spokes because I don't like having them show on the inside of the card.

Have your recycled something recently? What was it?

Follow Your Crafty Heart

{ Blown Glass Heart }

Alyssa Day knows the importance of following your crafty heart. She started out with plans to be a computer designer for spacecraft systems. After listening to her true calling, she switched her career path & chose one that was creative.

This decision changed her life, making it a happier & leading her down the path to discovering her craft.

Alyssa creates a variety of arts. They all can be found at her shop, GlassSculptureOrg. Home decor, jewelry & ornaments are just a few of things she offers.

She loves to learn new skills, combine those different skills & create unique items!

Want A Cup Of Tea?

When I was creating my project for Tuesday Alchemy, I printed out two of this adorable digital stamp from our sponsor, The Greeting Farm.

I had planned on cutting different pieces of one image to place on top of the other image to create more depth. However, I only used the hat, so I decided to create my own hat. It's a smart little thing with a large bow & birdcage veil.

My first creation can be seen here, which was used as inspiration for Tuesday Alchemy's 21st challenge.

They are similar in color scheme, but I used different styles to create similar yet different looks.

This creation has also been submitted to these wonderful challenge blogs. Click the links below for details & to join in the fun!

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #19: Lime, Orange & Plum

Since it's summertime, we decided to do a color scheme that is perfectly suited for the season at Tuesday Alchemy. Lime, orange & plum are bright & juicy, so it was a lot of fun to come up with this creation.

What colors do you like to use for summer? I'd love for you to share your favorites with me :)

This creation started out as a plain wood frame. I painted, distressed, glittered & sealed it for a funky & vibrant piece that will brighten up any room.

I made the wood heart match this chalkboard & added a handcrafted chalkboard clothes pins to it. This way you can display a photo as well as write a note!

Cupcake 196: Red, White & Blue

This challenge for Cupcake Craft Challenges was by far the most difficult & frustrating for me than any other challenge I've done. Why? It's just a simple color scheme, Corrinne - How difficult can that be?

I'm a July baby, so everything for my birthday (whether it's a calendar or personalized item) always has this color scheme along with stars & stripes. Hey, I like red, white & blue. I like stars, too. I just would like a little variety for July!

Ok, ok . . . enough with my thoughts. Let's get to the task at hand, which is sharing my creation with you. The first card I made was nice, but it needed more to it & I just couldn't figure out what to add. My second card was okay, but I messed it up with painted flowers. This is my third attempt . . .

The flower & heart are crocheted (not by me as I suck at crochet.) I painted, glittered & sealed a chipboard flourish for the embellishment under everything. The background print is fabric NOT paper.

I am a guest designer at Cupcake Craft Challenges for the month of June! Join me & the other wonderful designers by making your own Red, White & Blue creation to share.
